Scarpetta Wine Label
04Jun08
The word is out that a second edition of the fabulous Scarpetta Wine is soon to arrive here from Italy. Originally I had been approached by Dennis Scholl, prominent Miami art collector and mega-aficionado of Olafur Eliasson works to lend one of my existing illustrations to a wine label for Betts & Scholl wine importers. It is their tradition to commission contemporary artists with an edge to create special art labels for each vintage….And obviously they like to push the envelope a little. Last year’s release has sold out.

Antar- Congratulations on getting your blog up and running.
I really like the Scarpetta labels by the way. Pigs and wine! Pretty compelling. The color in the photograph looks great too. Hopefully that’s a fair representation of what it’s like in person. I’m a red wine guy myself, but I’d give it a try. Hmmm, looks like this wine might go well with truffles. Although the only truffles my unsophisticated palate approve of are the chocolate variety.

Very exciting blog. It is obvious that you are not only a true artist but an exceedingly professional one as well!
CONGRADULATIONS DAD! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!
